I only been there a few times since I was a kid as travelling from Mississauga to Markham and Scarborough takes considerable time. I can only say the following:
There were tasty Chinese food options at the food court and the little bakery near the supermarket. A definite shout out to Sam's Congee Delight and Tung Tung Dan Guen King Ltd for their tasty congee, rice noodle rolls and egg waffles!
Another highlight is One's Better Living. I have a rather soft spot for their plushies and accessories haha.
After a few years of not going there, I had a chance to visit its current state. It's sad to see many vacant spaces (some businesses either relocated or closed for good - others will soon follow). The Remington Centre renovation is finally happening after a decade of delays. Who knows how long it will take for the ambitious project to flourish.
There's some moving sales going on especially from those clothing and makeup stores. JCY House will soon move to PMall and has a promo going on. No harm in checking them out imo.
Although I knew this already from a friend, the McDonald's has been transformed to a Chinese medicine/herb store many years before. My bf saw metal bits at the back room and stated that's where the French fries cooking station used to be haha.
In short, Market Village was a nice small alternative to visit over the years, compared to its ever popular neighbour Pacific Mall. Thanks for the good memories!
