Horrible service and I'm pretty sure what happened was a bait and switch. We had a prepaid reservation through Priceline for $130 for a compact car for 3 days (4/19-4/22). We waited for over an hour at an understaffed counter. When we got to the counter, the agent told us the only car left was a Chevy Tahoe and we would have to pay an additional $280, bringing the total amount to more than $400! Triple the amount we were expecting to pay. Textbook example of a bait and switch.
On top of that, the agent tried to pressure us into getting the Tahoe by telling us that Priceline never refunds prepaid reservations. On the contrary, when we contacted Priceline, we got a full refund, they said that we should've gotten a free upgrade, and offered to pay the difference for the alternate rental.
Had we known that we would have to wait in line for over an hour to be scammed, we wouldn't have chosen E-Z Rent-a-Car. Save yourself the time and use a different rental car company. We went to Hertz and got a car for almost the same price in less than 15 min.
