We stayed at this property May 17 - May 20 for my husband's firm annual retreat. Always nice to get to stay in a new city. We must have gotten quite a deal. We don't mind old properties, however, there was wall paper peeling off in our room, dirty and grit in the bathroom, there was something coming from the vents in the bathroom. The property STUNK like smoke it was disgusting. The staff was HORRIBLE and ironically the FRONT DESK was horrible. I called on Saturday May 19th asking if we could have housekeeping clean our room between maybe 1130 am and 330 pm as we were both going to be out and didn't want to interfere with their stop in the event they came by outside of those hours. Huff and puff "Well. I'll need to call them and ask if this is ok." SERIOUSLY this is the best you can do? You can't thank me for calling and say, "Thank you for calling. It is a Saturday things may be hectic let me see what we can do." It's called OUTSTANDING SERVICE. Even if it wasn't pulled off (which it wasn't but more on that on a better note) the FRONT DESK WAS unfriendly, unprofessional, bothered and inappropriate. Interestingly enough I came back around 2 pm and the DND sign was hanging on the handle. I walk in and it's my husband back early from a meeting getting some much needed rest. The room wasn't clean and I went to get ice - wasn't really bothered but saw it was not cleaned. I pass a housekeeper on this busy Saturday who stops me, "Excuse me. We got your ask to hit your room during those specific hours though by the time we got there the DND sign was up so we missed you. It's been a busy day. Can I get you anything - fresh towels or something to help out?' BAM THAT is what I'm talking about. The HOUSEKEEPING STAFF rocks this old smelly place. Unbelievable. Did we survive? Yes. Did anyone DIE? No. Was she amazing? YES. The front desk not so much. Parking staff gets kudos. Upon check in the kid tells us it's $60 a night or for a few steps away you can park for $20 a night saving money. Done. Less work for them and we save cash.
This property is unclean, unprofessional and disappointing. Not a good experience for Pitt.
