  • NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have rabbits. My rabbit had stasis, and I knew I had to take him to the vet. Unfortunately, my regular vet was already closed. And so I thought of Beaches Animal Hospital because I remembered they had long hours and had a rabbit vet based off of their work with Rabbit Rescue. Also, it was a lot closer than Campus Estates in Guelph since I live in the GTA. Beaches Animal Hospital couldn't take me because their rabbit vets were not in. The receptionist instead referred me to their sister clinic, the Downtown Animal Hospital, who had a "rabbit vet" available. I called Downtown Animal Hospital and rushed my rabbit to their office. The vet tech didn't know how to handle my rabbit properly. I forgave that because my rabbit is more finicky than most (even more so than other rabbits). Then, the vet came. "Dr. Gigi" (who I suspect is Dr. Gihan Zeitoun). Dr. Gigi cooed at my rabbit a bit without handling him, which looking back now, is likely because she didn't know how to handle my rabbit. I spoke briefly about how I knew it was stasis since my one of my other rabbits had it frequently before passing away. Then Dr. Gigi asked if how I knew my rabbit was in pain and if he cried. [This is huge if you know anything about rabbits.] ALARM BELLS! I questioned if she knew anything about rabbits and she said she was "testing" me on whether I knew my rabbit was in pain. Yep, testing my knowledge. I NOPED OUT OF THERE IMMEDIATELY, placed my rabbit into the carrier and sped to Campus Estates all the way in Guelph. My rabbit is thankfully fine because of Campus Estates and their care. And reading the reviews now, I shouldn't have even bothered wasting the time and gas with this place. TL;DR: I thought I try some place closer to home instead of Campus Estates, but there was no chance of it. Campus Estates is ridiculously far, but they know how to treat and care for rabbits. Downtown Animal Hospital? KEEP ALL CRITTERS AWAY FROM HERE!
