| - Pretty much the WORST fucking venue I've ever been to.
Worst experience I have ever had at a concert.
I went there the other day to see Major Lazer. I got my ticket a month in advance. I missioned all the way to the middle of butt fuck no where to get there and waited in line for at least half an hour with my friend.
This is the best part.
As soon as my friend and I get to one of the bouncers who scans your ticket, he lets my friend in but then took one glance at me and decided I was high on drugs and pushed me aside and told me to wait for half an hour.
Now, other then this being completely offside since I do not do drugs and now being accused of it after a split second look at me, I was physically assaulted by the same guy. After keeping quiet for half an hour and asking him what to do from there (if he could let me in now, etc) This 6.5 foot man decided to yell in my face, accuse me of being high, insane and not understanding English all because I asked him a single question after already waiting half an hour like he asked. I begged him to let me in. My friends begged him and the other bouncers. I tried to explain to him in a calm manner that I have never done drugs and for him to please search me or check my pupils or something to prove to him that he was wrong about me. But instead this man continued to yell at me and accuse me of being insane and push me away with a LOT of force, while not even looking at me and letting other people in without even checking them. I know for a fact that he could have easily pushed me down if I was so impaired like he thought I was. Thats how rough he was being with me. He had his hands all over me pushing me around and grabbing me.
I have bruises to prove it.
All of this because of a single 1 second glance at me in the dark. All because I asked him a single question after ALREADY doing what he asked me to do.
So I became a little desperate and decided to go back to the end of the line to prove to him that I'd waited yet another half an hour and so I can get another chance to talk to him. By the time I got to him he laughed and kicked me out of line. Told me that I'm BANNED. Told me there was no chance of me getting in and pushed me multiple times with force again.
This all happened on the sidewalk mind you, not even on their private property. So technically he was physically assaulting me on city property. After waiting around and seeing that they're all just fucking assholes who don't give a shit about you, other then ruining your night, I decided to leave. I honestly couldn't believe what had just happened.
The next day I called up the owner and the man in charge of security for the Sound Academy. By the end of the long and heated conversation, their basic comeback was that when I was asked to leave I should have left and because I didn't, thats when I became a nuisance and the bouncers had the right to touch me because I was apparently also "trespassing". (Which is hilarious because this all happened on the side walk!)
So the bouncer falsely accuses me of being a crazy drug addict, and so when I start to ask questions and get upset THATS when they decide their assumption of me was right. Such fucking bullshit.
Anyway other then that one experience I had before even getting into the club, I've had other bad experiences inside for other shows.
The layout of the club is terrible for concerts. The drinks are INSANELY over priced. A bottle of water costs more then pop. And because they know people will get dehydrated in there and cant afford another bottle of water, they switch all the tap water to BOILING hot temperatures so people can't even refill them using the bathroom taps. Oh also, the bouncers are fucking idiots.
Complete power tripping assholes.
Just don't ever EVER go to the Sound Academy. The people that work there are scum bags and the people that run it are even worse.
