I have been following Melissa for close to five years now. I came to this salon a couple years ago because of her. Last week while trying to book an appointment with Melissa through the always warm, outgoing and friendly *sarcasm* receptionist/ owner named Doug, I inquired about an email I received from The Parlor that advertised 15% off a gift card for goods and services as a Mother's Day promo. Mr. Personality asks me in snippy voice "Is it for your mother?" I should have replied that no. My mother died when I was eight or just told him it was none of his business. Instead, I just said no. It would be for me from my husband. (My husband often gives me money or a gift card because that's what I always ask for. I would prefer to get something I can use rather than something that doesn't fit or has to be returned.) Anyway, in a very condescending voice, as if I was some kind of criminal for asking he says "Well, your husband will have to come in and buy it". Seriously? What does he do? Require fingerprints and a birth certificate to make sure you are buying it for your mother? What if i went to buy it myself? Would he refuse to sell it to me because I don't have a mother? The guy has never had much of a personality for as long as I have been going there, and I rarely deal with him, So I could live with that, but this just left me with a pretty rotten taste. He can keep his lousy 15% gift card. It's a shame too because Melissa is the best at what she does. Five stars for her. One for Doug.
