I fully concur with every negative comment by prior reviewers. I've been here 4 or 5 or 6 times now, the most recent being to see Wicked, and I have passed up other opportunities for the very fact that they were at Ovens Auditorium.
The place is awfully big for Broadway tours. This of course is how they meet the demand and pay for the lavish sets, but every lover of theatre knows that houses of this size are poor venues for theatre.
As cavernous as the place is, they pack seating as tight as any venue I have seen, which adds to the discomfort.
The sound is terrible, and that is my biggest complaint. I am no technician, but music here invariably sounds like something from a cheap AM radio.
Finally, the place is just ugly.
