| - We arrived around 4:30 on a Wednesday before the Jason Isbell show at the Benedum, and it seemed like they were just opening. Only a couple of other couples there and a guy at the bar. No host and the bartender asked if we were going to eat. Sure man, it's a restaurant, right? Go figure... We were told to just sit anywhere and someone would be right with us. After about 15 minutes no one came to our table so I started to get up and go to the bar for a menu, but a server saw me getting up and came over. Asked our server for a beer menu and was told they didn't have any. Really? My girlfriend looked around and found one lying on another table. Strike two. Ordered the lobster Mac n cheese as an appetizer. DEFINITELY not enough for two people to split, even as an appetizer, which was ok with us because we both thought it was pretty bland and should have just been called "Mac n cheese" because Sherlock Holmes would have had a tough time finding lobster in there. For dinner I ordered the pan seared scallops with red mashed potatoes. I think it was $23 or something like that which was INSANE for what I got, which was 8 single-bite sized, overcooked and completely flavorless pieces and a small mound of cold potatoes. Extremely disappointed in this dish. The other half got the prosciutto and arugula pizza. When it came to the table, completely topped with raw arugula about an inch deep, I was skeptical and didn't even try it until we got home later that night. I was wrong about this one and the pizza was delicious and on point. After my first round I did sit beerless for about 15 minutes before one of our two servers came by to see if I wanted another (I did), but other than that they were fairly attentive, even though they both gave us a vibe that they were somehow annoyed that we were there. Our total bill for dinner, appetizer and 4 draft beers came to just over $80, which was way too steep considering the quality of food and service. Maybe we'd go back to grab a drink at the bar, but for food there are much better choices in the strip district.
