| - We were handed a list of facilities to take my dad to for further medical care. He was going to be released from another hospital and was in need of an in-hospital place for physical, speech, and occupational therapy after suffering from a stroke.
We all decided this would be a good hospital and location. My dad was admitted to the Acute Care Center. It is located nearest the East Entrance. My dad's room had 2 beds, but he never got a room mate. That was nice!
I can't say all the staff were attentive, but there were more that were than not. His care was very good! The teams that handled his therapies were super friendly and helpful! In fact, they encouraged family participation, as in watching and taking notes as to how to be helpful with his mobility around the house.
The moment of my dad's discharge, the Nurse's Assistant got him in his wheelchair and he got to ring the bell. All the staff that were available came over to congratulate him and wish him well.
One thing my dad told me was that every time a baby is born, they play The Brahms' Lullaby. I never heard it, but my Dad told me we missed it shortly after we left or before we got there. I think that is a nice way to announce the new births at the hospital! What a sweet way to announce births!
The food was fairly decent, my dad said. We brought food from downstairs in the Deli Webb Café to the family activities room in the Acute Care and ate with dad. I think the food must be from the same kitchen, but I could be wrong. I didn't find the food much more than decent.
One nice thing is the parking is free and there is a guy driving a golf cart who will come pick you up and give you a lift to the front door. In fact, I forgot where I parked my car, so I took him up on the ride so I could find it. I had parked near the main street and it was sprinkling, so I figured that was the best and quickest option.
Banner Del E Webb is a large company! They have lots of doctors and offices affiliated with them. In fact, it is very convenient to find an in-network doctor! For instance, if you visit a doctor or facility in their network, then your records are on file and it is much simpler for the paperwork and billing.
