| - My first mission with the GTA Burger Brigade and I think that I completed the objectives of filling up my belly with burger-y goodness! Located in Thornhill, across from the Promenade Mall in the newer complex of business, Fatburger is located on the corner of the building facing the west. Lots of ample parking. The restaurant has a small footprint, but is more long than wide. About a 25 seat eating area, ample enough for a small group. The menu is quite extensive..not just beef burgers..but chicken, turkery, vegetarian options also salads as well. They also have a variety of different french fry options, ranging from different topped french fries, yam fries and the Large Bag O' Fries (which I have not tried, but it is on the list). Not like your regular burger joint, when they take your order..you tell them all the toppings you want and you are given a number and they will deliver your burger to you wherever you are sitting in the restaurant. This way it keeps the line up at the cash moving, so that there isn't a line up of people waiting for food. A great idea!! The service was fast and friendly and the staff was always helpful to explain all the options. I sat in the dining area and they brought my meal in about 8-10 min. I ordered the Double Kingburger..which consisted of 2 8oz patties with Cheddar (extra) Bacon (extra) lettuce, tomato, spicy ketchup, mayonnaise and to top it off...Chili (extra). From what I have been told..you can keep adding patties to the burgers for $2.50 a patty. The current record is 7, I think I can beat it..The burger was cooked perfectly and it had a very distinctive black pepper taste. I personally love pepper so it was quite a delight, but if this isn't your thing, just ask to hold off. The drinks by the way are bottomless, which is good when you have a 16oz burger you need to wash down. Fatburger will be a licensed restaurant and it looks like they will be stocking some fine local Amsterdam Brewery products (on tap!!) . All in all it was an excellent sojurn to the northern part of the GTA to experience a well known US chain that has been cooking Burger-y goodness since 1952..head on down to Fatburger in Thornhill
