| - Update: After I wrote this review I was contacted by an Operating Partner of the Donnelly Group who apologised for the way this incident was handled by security. He assured me that this was not in fact their policy and that they have zero-tolerance for sexual harassment, both internally among their staff and externally for anyone visiting their bar. It is something they train for and continually coach employees on. For whatever reason though, this incident did happen.
I do believe they investigated my complaint and took it seriously. I think they will be more sensitive to reported harassment in the future to ensure patrons will be respected within their venue.
With that said, I do encourage other Yelp reviewers to not shy away from addressing these sorts of issues with bars and clubs. I think it's important we all hold each other accountable to high levels of respect for one another, and the only way we can improve the ongoing harassment women face when engaging the nightlife of this city is to report these incidents to security, and, in lieu of an appropriate response from security, management.
Ladies: do not let men off the hook easy. If someone is rude to you, tell them you don't like the way they are interacting with you and you won't tolerate their behaviour. If they are clearly intoxicated, inform security they need to be removed. If you don't correct them, they will harass countless more women immediately after you, and every night they go out thereafter. I watched this man all night bother women and almost every woman spared his feelings rather than honouring their own. Why do we do this? We are so unconditionally friendly and forgiving of everyone. Do yourself and every other woman a favor and speak up please. We're all in this together!
