I was yelping for some late night dessert and came across Old Firehall Confectionery which is located in Main Street Unionville. This was my first time to this adorable little neighborhood and it certainly caught my attention. Old-world and charming are the two words that comes to mind. These streets were bustling at 10pm with mostly high school and college-aged kids looking to enjoy some wonderful summertime desserts (while playing Pokemon Go!). Parking can be easily located behind many of the shops.
When you first enter Old Firehall Confectionary, you will see two lines - the left is for ice cream and the right is for all the baked sugary goodness. The abundance of selection made me feel like I was in the candy house featured in the story of Hansel and Gretel. Chocolate, macarons, candy, ice cream, cakes, oh my! There are seriously just tons and tons of options. Unfortunately they did not have any jasmine tea macarons available when I went which was a total bummer because that was the main reason why I chose this dessert spot in the first place after seeing it on Yelp. I decided to get two scoops of ice cream to fill my void. I picked the black raspberry thunder and the salted caramel truffle. Both were deliciously satisfying, but I did enjoy the black raspberry thunder a bit more.
Old Firehall Confectionary is such a fun place to check out whether to grab a dessert with a date or a group of friends. I absolutely adore this place and wish I could go back. Too bad I live in, like, a different country. Prices are fair.
