| - What more can you ask for in a hotel? Centrally located, with a rooftop view of Montreal. Their outdoor rooftop garden and adjacent pool are beautiful and open year round. Gorgeous lobby, updated to be 'boutique-chic'.
Guest services were polite and helpful and very knowledgeable of the local area, check in was a breeze.
Now...I will preface this with the fact that I am on a business trip, because it I were paying for this room, I would've demoted to a 3. On the way to the rooms, there are sections of the concrete walls missing. Some of the signs are askew and/or missing. It looks like all of the hallways are in construction mode (It's been here since 67...perhaps a facelift underway?) this is offputting, but excusable. The room, however, was not.
Bubbling, peeling wallpaper, poor wifi access (which they try to make up for with a LAN drop...I don't have a LAN port on my laptop aaaand my husband used it, it doesn't work). And a door that slams shut (and hit me in the face when my husband let go of it). The bathroom door doesn't even close properly.
For the price, I would expect USB ports somewhere in the room, a decent coffee maker, a door that is maintained properly, wallpaper that is stuck to the wall properly and decent wifi. At least they have great service.
