This show had a little bit of everything. Magic, violence, pole dancers, even rave lasers. It was what I would have expected from a Vegas show. There were small hints of Cirque du Soleil, but it was very minimal.
If it wasn't clear enough, Criss Angel is EDGY. Initially it was cringey to experience this exaggerated satan-death-emo-edgelord aesthetic, but I understood that it was an artistic choice and I think he absolutely nails it. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that he has a gentler more human side as well and it made the show much easier to watch. The show is full of intense energy with occasional breaks of slower, gentler acts. Most illusions are pretty standard, but there were a handful that were absolutely magical.
I did enjoy the show overall, but there were some odd things mixed in that bothered me. I thought it was really weird that at the end he felt the need to address the Chinese audience members and say "Ni hao" to them.
