Absolutely love this place. It is not a "five star" restaurant but it has to be near the top in its category which I consider casual Italian. I have been about 7 times now over the last year.
My kids, who are not fond of eating at restaurants, go nuts when I suggest S&V as an option. It is a bit of a drive for us, but we always leave satisfied.
The wait staff is consistently good, engaging, personable and patient with kids. The decor is nice and comfortable and the bathrooms are clean.
The food is good and and consistent for this level of restaurant. The wine list is adequately varied. The garlic knots from the appetizer menu have the addiction potential of heroin. Similarly scaled, Local Bistro, is just down the block from me, but I prefer S&V and thus make the 10 mile drive.
The salads are a little ho-hum and is the one category on the menu that could be improved.
