whoa! i saw a "people like me on yelp" sticker on the door and i had to write a review!
i've gone to HOB just twice because i intentionally avoid it. the first show was one my favorite bands. the second show we got free tickets or else i wouldn't have gone.
ticket price is never just a ticket price. learned that the hard way when i went to the box office to avoid fees. NOPE. even a fee at the box office. so, it is literally *impossible* to not pay fees unless you have some type of buddy at the venue i guess.
ridiculous policies - like, someone had offered my boyfriend and i their reserved seat tickets. the attendant wouldn't allow me to go get the tickets (while he watched) from the people. they had to bring them to me. unfortunately, i didn't have their cell #s and they didn't magically know they had to bring them up. so, that was a pain and something you don't see at non-corporate venues.
HOB is a corporate chump and there are only a handful of bands i'd see if they played there. larger indie bands should play at the masonic temple. everyone else, there is the grog, beachland, etc! please no HOB!
