| - I have not been to a hair salon in years. I usually dye and cut my own hair, and thats because I know what I like and its very cheap. But my husband and I are going on a vacation soon and I thought I would treat myself and splurge on a new hair do from a fancy salon.
I booked the appointment through MC hairs' mobile app and when the list of names came up on which hair dresser I wanted, I chose a gal who had "master" next to her name thinking she would be a master of hair... Boy was I wrong!
I even called the next day and spoke to the receptionist about what I wanted and if this girl I booked with could handle that- they assured me yes!
When I arrived they gave me a black "gown" so my clothes wouldn't get damaged and continually asked if I wanted anything to drink or a magazine to read. Very nice place. Beautiful decor, old building with modern furniture. Everyone seemed very pleasant.
My hair dresser was very nice, however I didn't get a good feeling once she started dying my hair. I came equipped with pictures of what I wanted, but was told it would be to dark for me. So she got a lighter color without showing me any swatches or what it would be similar to. Then during the coloring process- because I came in with blonde hair- she literally only dyed the top half of my hair darker. Like 5 inches from my roots and the rest was blonde. It was a hot mess. She mentioned a glazing during the washing so I'm like ok- that must be what turns the blonde darker.
Well while shes washing my hair out, she says she is not going to do the glaze after all because the blonde looks so pretty. So at this point I'm pretty annoyed because I'm the one that dyed my blonde hair and I'm not paying you to dye half my head! Then she mentions that she used a demi-permanent so all this will wash out and fade "naturally"
Ok. So you only dyed half my head and now its going to wash out anyway!? I was never informed at anytime it would only be a demi-permanent dye. And even if the hair "looks pretty" maybe do what I asked for? Which is dark...?
So after the wash, during the blow dry, while I was examining the hot mess of my hair, it was not anything like the picture and I said I wanted it darker. So then we go back to the sink, she throws a glaze on which she said would be caramel and it turned out gray?!!!!
After the next blow dry I was almost in tears. She literally stopped and took me to the front to have the receptionist figure something out- either I get shuffled to someone who would make me happy, or I come back another day. And I truly don't know why this lady was listed as a "master" I didn't ask for anything that hard. Literally dye my hair dark and add some blonde here and there!
So after a few minutes, the receptionist was able to send me to a new gal, Brittney. Who is amazing. She calmed me down, assured me we could fix the mess of my hair. I showed her the picture of what I wanted and SHE DID IT! Told me everything she was doing, even curled my hair to show me how nice my hair looked when done.
All in all, I will not be going back. I'm glad it worked out in the end, but I just don't like spending sooo much $$$$ on such a bad experience. I literally cringe every time I look in the mirror right now and its from the bad feelings associated with the hair!
So, bookers beware! And if you want amazing pinterest worthy hair, maybe go to Brittney- she did a great job and it turned out extremely close to the picture.
