| - Being both a vegas native & local, i am reluctant to head down to the strip. Been there, seen that, done that. Besides, traffic sucks and they charge for parking. Welcome to the big city.
I didnt even know this place existed. I came here to see Night Ranger open for Boston. The last time i saw Boston play was literally 40 years ago as a very young teen at the old Aladdin theater which is still there, just renamed Planet Hollywood and completely surrounded by the miracle mile shops. Its a 7,500 seat arena that hosted an incredible list of iconic rock bands all through the 70's, 80's, 90's. Heck, i even recieved my high school diploma on stage there!
The Park theater is located at the Monte Carlo hotel. I arrived and went straight to valet. 10 bucks was totally worth it. Inside the 5,500 seat theater, i was up in the balcony looking down. I was comfortable, had a great view and the sound & acoustics were dead on. No echoes of sound bouncing off hard surfaces. The decor outside the arena was upscale. Check out the HUGE chandeliers inside. The show was great and i really enjoyed myself. I did not enjoy a $15.00 beer. Cher performs here regularly and Bruno Mars will be here. Located directly behind T-Mobile arena. The intersection outside has no traffic lights or anyone directing traffic so you literally feel like someones taxi is going to collide with you.
