I just got done with a meeting at Mandalay and had some craving for some sushi, my spot in Vegas is usually the Island Sushi on Eastern and 215, but my meeting went longer than expected and got out at 2:30 PM so my stomach was empty and I had a craving for some sushi. So tried the place and sat down at the bar.
First is was not busy and the service was slow, so I imagine it would probably be worse during normal business hours. Second, most Japanese restaurants I've eaten at usually just gives you the edumame, and the server didn't even bother to ask me if I wanted some, let alone just went ahead and gave me some!
The rice was not your usually Japanese Jasmine rice, which with any sushi it should be a sticky rice, I think they just ran out and served regular rice with the sushi and the fish were okay, I ordered a philly roll, rainbow and tempura and should have tried one first before order all at once. Got done in a hurry and pretty much was very disappointed with the service and quality of the sushi.
