  • We called this company 3 times. The last time was an awful experience! We used this company to fix 3 separate garage doors. The first time, end of 2015-beginning of 2016, Eli came out and replaced our broken springs. We didn't bother getting other quotes and I don't know if we were overcharged or not. The job was done OK. The second time, early 2016, we had moved to another house with two garage doors, and both needed repairs. Adam came out and gave us a high quote, that kept dropping as he saw we were being hesitant and telling him the price was too high. We still ended up paying around $500, and since we didn't get any other quotes, I don't know if we were overcharged. The chain that opens the garage was loose and we asked Adam to tighten it, to which he replied that he cannot, that it is just an old opener and it will soon break with that chain loose. My husband later figured it out and tightened the chain himself, since it was so easy, and the mechanism even had a label that said 'tighten chain here'. I don't know if Adam just wasn't knowledgeable enough to tighten the chain, or if he was hoping the mechanism will soon break with the chain loose so we'll have to call them again. The third time we called them, Friday, June 3rd, 2016, we had a horrible experience. We called them and asked if they would do a free estimate (since we knew we had paid so much in the past). They said yes, and they sent Ozzy. We had lowered one of the garage doors over a wheelbarrow, and now the garage door was having a hard time opening and closing. The quote we started at was just over $1,000. Yes, you read that right. As we said that was way too high and won't pay that much, the price gradually lowered to around $650. That was for a new garage door opener. We said that that was still high and that we'll call them back when we make a decision. The technician was very, very insistent that we use them, saying that if we want to call another company, to do it while he was there, and said we'll get higher quotes from other people. When we asked if we can just fix what was broken instead of replacing the whole opener, he said that will cost even more. When he saw we weren't going to commit, he said that 'somebody needs to pay' for his gas because he came out. Mind you, their website says free estimates, we had called prior and were assured they come out and give free estimates. PLUS we had paid these people around $1,000 in the past, so we felt, as good customers, that we deserve at least one free estimate. After we insisted for about another 10 minutes that we won't pay for an estimate, reluctantly, the technician said 'I guess then, since that's what they told you over the phone..." and he left. Here comes the UNBELIEVABLE part: the next day, my husband got up on a step stool and looked at the mechanism, to notice that all that was wrong was that a wheel had come off the track. THAT WAS IT!! He put the wheel back on the track in 5 min and the garage door now works like new. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!! We would have paid over $1,000 with their initial quote, and $650 with their final quote, to replace the whole garage door opener, when all that was wrong was a wheel off track!! MOREOVER, we called a different company to see what they would charge for the same job, and they said their most expensive system was $275, with everything included! Much, much cheaper than the $650.
