| - The pool area is 5 star. The beds, 1 star. Holy cow, old spring mattresses, what's that about at a resort?! That was a seriously uncomfortable night.
I'm a Platinum, so despite being "overbooked" (sounds like this is something to be careful of at this property so don't delay with checking in...) they offered me the choice of a regular room with king bed, or a patio room, two doubles.
The patio room has a sliding glass door to the walkway to the pool - the guy at check in said it was really convenient as you can just walk from your room over to the pool. Oookay, I'm in! Double down the beds. Whatever.
Here's the thing. If you exit your room via the patio door, not only do you have to leave it unlocked while you swim (completely out of sight of the pools and kind of tucked away down a path - easy for someone to slip in and out), you have to leave the security bar undone.
Given the bar is at chest height and cuts directly across the patio door, it's very, VERY obvious when it's not in place. May as well switch on a neon sign saying "the room is open, c'mon in!!"
I didn't exit the room via the patio and instead walked the long way around to the pools. So much for the convenience (and the modesty!) of being able to just slip into the pool from my room.
Stairs everywhere - if you have trouble with stairs, really, there are better choices than this one. Lots and lots of stairs.
The pools are incredible - it's really two large pools with a channel connecting the two you swim along. They also have a water slide (only open when they have a lifeguard on duty, not a problem to me but if my kids were here, I'd be grumbling) into a third pool. I did not try the hot tubs, but there are a few built into the hillside. More stairs.
Worth it if you're a poolophile such as myself. Not at all if you're into beds you sink into.
