| - The entrees are okay but have a salt taste. The tables are tile-topped so the tile grout collects dirt and germs. I have been in better Mexican places where the tops are custom and very colorful however they have a piece of glass or Lexan over top of them to keep the eating surface clean. Last time I was in here there were 2 kids running around their table and the adults, including the waitresses didn't care one bit that my ears were ringing from screaming. I guess that is an occasional part of the "authentic" experience. The prices are a bit high for the quality of the food. The food isn't horrible, but it is really just average. People rave about this place, even going as far as saying its the best Latino food they've ever had, even traveling to Latino countries. I don't get it. One of the same yelling children was licking the top of a salt shaker in front of the adults and wait staff, nobody seemed to care. I had to tell the waitress to probably remove that salt shaker since the little girl was licking it. Beware salt shakers at this place with clogged tops, it may be from dried saliva. The place has a nice decor but overall they stay so busy (again, I am baffled as to why) and that causes the cleanliness of the place to be below average. Wait staff is friendly however can be too long between table visits, and then when at the table once can be pushy. Unfortunately I will come back as my girl and her family say its the best, driving 40 minutes from home in SC to come here. I have eaten Mexican food my whole life, authentic and otherwise, and this place to me is average at best. Not positively memorable in terms of deliciousness, cleanliness or value. Yes you get a lot of beans and rice with the food but that's like going to Thanksgiving at someones house and bragging about the portions because half your plate was piled with Stove Top. If my experience here improves, I will be sure to apologize and update my rating, but after 3 or 4 visits, I am doubtful.
