Rented a car from Dollar on Jul 1st. Got a good deal on their website two days before I was scheduled to fly in. Signed up for Express after I had reserved my car (should have done the other way round).
Getting to the McCarran Car Rental center was a breeze. Friendly shuttle drivers who insist on loading and unloading your luggage for you. Check-in line at the Dollar desk was short but was moving slow, as there were only two people manning the desk, but it was 1AM in the morning so it is understandable. This is why I should have enrolled in Dollar Express first because that would have allowed me to go straight to pick up my car.
The guy at the desk quickly checked me in. Price was same as what I was quoted on their website. Added $10 per day for additional driver. Surprisingly, there was no pitch for Collision Damage etc. Still, always read what you are being asked to sign-off on. Was on my way in 5 minutes.
Walked downstairs to get to the car. They had a few Impalas to choose from. Couple of them had their back seats still dirty. Chose one that looked the cleanest, though it had some black scratches near the boot and a phone number (!) penned down on the hood! Had that properly documented, both by the lady at the counter and at the gate before we left the facility.
Return was a breeze. The guy checked the odometer and helped us get a few things that were still in the car. I asked him if he needs the gas receipt but he said it is not required. I would still suggest save your copy just in case. Got my final receipt from him and then he graciously directed us towards the shuttle that would take us to the airport.
