| - You know how exciting it is to go to bed in a freshly made bed with sheets that you just washed, well I was really looking forward to crawling into bed because not only were my sheets freshly washed they were brand new.... well I learned a lesson, you see I was trying to save a few bucks (you know so I can try some new restaurants and write yelp reviews right) so I didn't buy the 600+ thread count sheets. Having gone to bed feeling great in my fresh sheets, I wake the next morning and my back is killing me. Ok, maybe it wasn't the sheets but I couldn't think of anything else to blame it on.
So after waiting about a week I realized that my back was getting much worse, so off to the Chiropractor I go. I began to call around and ask questions to find a good Chiropractor and settled with Arizona's Family Chiropractic Center, here is what you can expect:
As I walked in the office was very clean and smells quite pleasant, I was warmly greeted by the staff behind the reception counter. In the waiting area there were numerous selections of magazines to read (although I have never had to wait) they also have a selection of games/legos in case you have a young child with you. I went into the examination room and the Dr. came in and discussed with my the trouble I was having, he explained how he believes he could help. Before the Dr. was willing to do anything he took about 8 x-rays of my back, he wants to make sure there is no other injury such as a fracture, as well as get a clear picture of what is wrong. This first consultation is FREE, they charge you nothing!
The next day I returned and the Dr. went over my x-rays with me educating me on what we were looking at, then we began treatment. They start you on traction which is a table you lay on and it has rollers that stretch out your back (kind of like a massage chair at Brookstone) then they moved me to a Hydro-therapy table, this is like a shallow water bed with jets under it, this massage relaxes your muscles, then a massage therapist targets you "problem area" for a few minutes (your feeling pretty good at this point). Last you go in for your traditional adjustment in the treatment room with the Dr.
I have had an excellent experience every time I have gone in for an adjustment, the receptionists remember your name, and everyone is very friendly. Without any insurance the charge is $35.00 per visit. I highly recommend this place, they treat your problems and don't try to make you come in for unnecessary "maintenance." I walk in hurting and walk out feeling like a million bucks.
