Arrived today at 12:35 for a 12:45 appointment after sitting in Phoenix Open traffic for 45 minutes on my way to the office. I was "greeted" with a mound of paperwork and was told that I need to complete ALL of it or they would have to reschedule my appointment. I tried to explain why I was running a bit late and was told "Well there is nothing we can do about it because that is our policy." So I sat down to quickly fill out all of the paperwork (half of which has nothing to do with why I was there in the first place). At 12:45 all I had to do was sign the insurance form and the HIPPA statement. That is when the girls behind the desk announced to me that they rescheduled my appointment and they would bill me for missing my appointment. When I asked if they were serious I was told they were completely booked for the afternoon and couldn't fall behind schedule. I wasn't even asked where I was on the forms. In fact I signed the last one as I walked up to their desk. I was the only person in the waiting room and didn't see anybody walk in or out in the 10 minutes I was sitting there. From there the "discussion" only got more and more heated leading to me to tell them to go ahead and cancel my rescheduled appointment because there is no way I will ever step foot in there again. So if you are looking for a medical group that is more interested in billing a patient for being 3 minutes late than actually helping them with their problems then this is the place for you!
