| - When my boyfriend and I wanted to meet up with an old college friend, our first thought was to grab brunch at Pamela's. Instead, our friend suggested Coca Café. Since this friend had stayed in Pittsburgh after graduation and is the local now (and we'd already had Pamela's once that weekend) we decided to follow his advice. Good call!
Coca Café is exactly my kind of place, from the quirky décor to the gourmet twists on breakfast/brunch classics. The food is top-notch, fresh, with high-quality ingredients. Even the drinks are a little bit unique (like the lemon apple juice with a hint of ginger). Between 6 people we had 4 different dishes, and everyone enjoyed their meal.
Prices reflect the upscale quality, but they're not unreasonable. Service was fine, and parking wasn't too bad. (We found a spot around the corner on a side street.) If we lived in Pittsburgh, we would definitely be regulars at Coca Café.
Tip: Our friend suggested we either meet 15 min before they opened to get a seat right, or else 1 and 1/2 hrs later to avoid the first wave/rush. We chose the former, stood in line until the doors opened, and had no problem getting a table for 6. This was on a Sunday.
