I would've given them 4 stars but for a fine dining restaurant they overlooked a lot of details.
It was a snowy Saturday and we had a late reservation. Many had canceled due to the weather, so with a half-empty restaurant I expected superb service. We were seated at a booth with a rough first impression. There was debris in the seat, a big stain on the tablecloth and one of our water glasses was dirty. Then the waiter forgot the lemon I asked for and one of the other staff hit a member of our party's nice jacket onto the floor and didn't bother to apologize or pick it up. If this were a diner, none of this would have phased me --- but we were about to drop $200 on a meal and expected a little more of a high caliber experience.
That being said, the food was delicious. We had the sweet and sour calamari and lobster mushroom bisque to start. Everyone raves about the sea bass so I got that, but I honestly liked my date's grouper dish better. It was a richly flavored dish with huge chunks of lobster in the mashed potatoes. We split a bottle of Malbec with the meal and had the blueberry napoleon for dessert.
All in all, I left happy with a full stomach... I just wish the ambiance had been as delightful as the food.
