I have ascended to food heaven. Dining at Scott's today was like a religious experience. One that my waistline will pay for but so worth it. This is hand's down my new favorite place for great deli sandwiches and bagels. No more will I buy my baked goods or luncheon meats at the grocery store.
Deciding what to get was tough, but I've had pastrami on the brain for days. The New Yorker sandwich filled that craving and more. Ridiculously high piles of pastrami and corned beef. OMG! I didn't know how I'd ever get my mouth around it, but somehow I did and the flavors and textures exploded on my tongue. The sandwich arrived with spears of pickles, cole slaw and the cutest french fries. There was no way I was finishing it all and I happily boxed up the remainder for a tasty breakfast tomorrow morning.
While inside paying I perused the bakery case. Lovely Linzer cookies called my name loudly so I left with three! The kid behind the counter offered to give me another for free but I thought about my waistline and graciously declined.
I look forward to my next visit however now I retreat to my room for a happy Jewish Deli induced food coma. Sweet dreams!
