I think of the Union Project as a church that became a community center. There's always something going on here. I enjoy Tamiah's Zumba class. I haven't seen a schedule lately, but there's been knitting classes, yoga, pottery making, and ladies who hula hoop. Rooms can be rented out for parties/receptions/other events, which I have attended in the past. Every year, UP holds day long events for MLK Jr. Day.
One downside is the quality of their sound system. The music plays clearly, but the microphones don't sound clear when people speak into them. This can be frustrating trying to understand what's being said.
Overall, I enjoy coming here.
