| - Holtzman Home Improvement? You'll need to have your home improved AFTER they finish the job. They broke our front steps (never repaired), broke through the bathroom wall and had to bring in another contractor to repair the gaping hole to the outside, and never cleaned up their mess. They left unsupervised laborers at our home who did not speak English and we don't have much Spanish, so it was very hard to convey to them what the plans called for and what we had paid for. There was no oversight by the general contractor. Yet when each payment was due, they promptly sent a woman to collect the money specified in the contract. Which we promptly paid because we had agreed. They did not keep their end of the bargain. I asked for a price for tile trim molding between the tile floor and wall. It was very expensive and we declined their price. They installed pieced together molding which looks very unprofessional and tacky. Six out of seven of their subcontractors did not have a clue what they were supposed to do when they got there, and they were rarely on time. At the end of January, Holtzman started the small bathroom remodel with the understanding that it would be done in six weeks. It was never completed, but seven months later, in August, we finally paid them to go away. When they were to install the bathroom cabinet and found a pipe in the wall they said they could not do the installation because of the pipe, and did we expect them to have eyes that could see through walls? No, I said, but as a general contractor when you contract to install something in a wall with obvious plumbing (the bathroom sink) you would expect to find a pipe. Brandon argued about this and kept asking me if I thought he could see through walls? It would have been hilarious if we had not invested so much money at that point. They are not economical, they are not good craftsmen, and they do not keep their word. Please save yourself time, aggravation and money and DO NOT HIRE HOLTZMAN. There should be a minus zero rating on this site just for Holtzman.
