  • I frequent the University City Blvd location and have been to this location a handful of times as well as some of the others. I came on Friday for the my weekly $5 wash. The young lady greeted me and asked me what kind of wash I'd like and if I'd like to add any upgrades. I examined the sky and it looked like rain. I changed to the $15 wash since it allows a rewash within four days. She agreed and gave me the weather report for the weekend which was impressive and helped to solidly my decision. When I asked if the rewash could be used elsewhere, she stated she didn't know. She then checked with a coworker who confirmed that I could and explained to me the process. I pulled through the gate and the young man doing the prep looked like they would rather be elsewhere. (Customer Service Tip: 93% of communication is nonverbal) He quickly prepped the car and I went through the wash, which even at my age is entrancing. After going through the wash, I began vacuuming the inside. I realized the wheels still looked dirty and the tires had very little sheen to them despite the heavy wheel cleaner and tire shine, but I dismissed it. Then I began to examine the car more closely and noticed there were still spots from the pecan tree at work. Now I don't have the newest car in the world, but I will say that the Sam's Express on University normally gets it so clean that it's shocking and successfully removed these spots a week prior. Afterwards, I had a guy comment randomly that the car looked "showroom new" and that was a $5 wash. Surely a $15 wash should do the trick. I went to the attendant who did the prep and told him that there were still spots and that it's not the norm for my wash experience. He stared at me blankly and said he would talk to the manager. He went in and came back out and said I could go through again. The manger never came out to inspect the car and assess the issue, offer atonement, (spoiler alert: not even after the second wash). The young man and the young lady (that was initially at the gate) prepped the car and I went back through. Even after the second wash, nothing changed. The wheels were still dirty, barely any tire shine and the spots were still there. I took the towel that I have from their unlimited towel program and was able to wipe these spots off easily. Which means that either the car wasn't prepped properly or that something was off with the wash, like low levels of fluids. I went inside to exchange my towel and the man who I presume was the manager and two others were talking. The manager never greeted me but instead instructed one of the men to help me. I asked for a new towel and was handed one that the employee was already holding that smelled of mildew. The ones at university normally have that characteristic fresh laundry scent. I decided that I'd rectify this by doing my rewash there and exchanging my towel there too. The experience was a disappointment. The two stars are only because of the knowledgeable young lady and the gentleman addressed her inquiry . From now on I'll just stick with the University location. After looking through some of the others reviews, I see that my experience is not a one-off and is consistent with others.
