| - I totally agree with previous reviewers , DHL's customer service is the worst ! My review is not for this shipping center but about DHL !
Here is the my story of what happened and I hope DHL could take it serious !
I went to a local ups on sep 24 th, I wanted to ship 2phones (gifts)to my brother and sister in law in China. The guy who works at ups suggested me to use DHL because it's shipper also faster than ups .I agreed so he asked me all the informations such as who is the receiver,what is inside the box and how much is the value of the items,I told him everything without hidden anything !
When the item arrived at chengdu , Sep 27th the DHL Carrie in China contacted my brother the same day to get identification from my brother and a letter from him because DHL in China told my brother they have to provide those documents to custom .My brother gave all the documents they needed . two weeks later Till October 13th the item still holding at chengdu custom . I had to called DHL customers service almost every day for the whole past week they could not tell me a reason why the custom holding my package so long it's almost been 20 days ! At the same time my brother was contacting China DHL for almost every day .Finally DHL said something about by law People can't Shipping two phones to China. It's illegal So DHL asked my brother if my he has any friends works in custom to help us to get my package out otherwise custom would keep it .
On Oct 13th China time.my mom had took a day off at work to go all the way from chongqing to chengdu to talk the custom . Custom told my mom it's illegal to send two phones from United to China they can't let it pass clearance , my mom had to explain my situation to the custom.the reason why I shipped 2 phones because DHL never told me anything by law I can't ship two phones . Hours later Finally custom felt very sorry for us and told my mom they understand its DHL's fault in United state because it's there responsibility to tell the each customer all the informations before the item was shipped ! So China customs did a special consideration let it went through clearance !
I felt very upset at this point . It's not because of the money It's all about characters!!
1. It was a gift for my brother and sister in law for a special event I paid international express mail it supposedly deliver in 3-5days we waited 20 days not even that DHL put my family to deal lots of hassles.
2.DHL are international service should have knowledge of what is each country's requirements for shipping , I gave truthful information no one from DHL said anything to me or contact me or tell me about the policy .If my mom did not went to chengdu talk to custom my brother won't get phones and the custom would keep it ! I would be lost over $1400
3.It wasted me also my family so much time to call DHL and deal with representatives.no one was help but saying they don't know .
4. My brother gave all the documents on sep 27th DHL in China did not give to the custom s till October 12th, that's the truth China custom told my mom in person! So really it's DHL 's fault no matter what !
5. item was not delivered to my home,my mom had to pick it up at chengdu DHL !
After all I reported to DHL claim department,because I felt like I should get a full refund but all they do was push me to another department or local DHL store ,they refused to solve the problem.i am just going to file claims everyday I guess till someone who can solve the problem!
Never ship through DHL again !
