This place is a gem in Las Vegas. To have a place that has so much history AND be a kick ass place to drink too is remarkable.
I've been here plenty of times. A huge plus for me is that it is down a few blocks east from the bustle of Fremont. You don't get a ton of tourists or douchey guys wandering down to Atomic Liquors from the Experience. There's also plenty of parking nearby with options for adventurous people as well as those who like to play it safer.
The beer list is always varied and a great selection of beers, particularly local ones. Lately, I've had a hard time saying no to the Crafthaus IPA. The server maintain a great attitude even through the bouts of insanity they endure. The one annoyance is the volume inside the bar is cacophonous but the patio is a refuge for those groups looking to talk. Patio is spacious with the music at a decent level. Plus, there's heat provided outside so you don't have to shelter inside when it gets a bit cold.
This really has become my go to bar when it comes to downtown.
