| - I missed my connection through Charlotte because a storm shut down the airport. My husband at home rebooked my flight home for the next morning, and booked this room for me so I could get a good night of sleep after and before stressful days.
I got to the hotel at about 10:45 PM. I was glad to have the booking because there was a long line of desperate travelers behind me, all of whom were in the same boat I was. The harried but friendly and efficient desk clerk told me that the hotel had been booked at 39% when she came on duty but was currently full to overflowing. I felt really bad for the people in line behind me, who were out of luck.
My room was very comfortable. There were two beds - my husband grabbed what he could get - and everything was clean. The bathroom had all the usual amenities. Once my room door was closed, I couldn't hear anything outside the room.
Because I checked in with just my purse - my bags were somewhere, who knows where - I went back to the desk to ask for a toothbrush and toothpaste, which they immediately produced for me. I slept like a log - the bed and bedding were very comfy.
My booking didn't include breakfast, and I was anxious to learn what had become of my luggage, so I took the early shuttle back to the airport to do some sleuthing. The shuttle runs every half hour from 7:00 to about midnight, maybe later.
Because I hadn't booked it myself, I have absolutely no idea how much my room cost! My guess is that it's at the higher end of the moderate range.
All in all, this was a pleasant restful stay in an otherwise very difficult trip.
