We did a fairly small pool, a grill with countertop, and landscaping with CA pools, but they never made us feel like we were insignificant (and I know they had tons of other larger jobs). Everything they did for us was at least as expected and much of it was better than expected!
The process started with a visit to the design studio where we were able to see a 3D rendering of our project and talk about the costs/options. My 5 year old son was with us and they literally treated us like family (let him ask questions even though they were silly and let him draw on their white board). They explained everything in detail and emailed us more detail about the equipment and options. We felt so informed and we were so impressed at this initial interaction that we canceled our other appointments for estimates.
During the build, we were kept informed about each step and we were told what work was going to be happening and when, so there were no surprises or unexpected workers arriving. The workers were efficient and respectful. The project was done on time. We were actually out of time when plaster was done for the pool and it was filled and the manager of CA pools stopped by our house to brush the settling plaster dust (which is generally done by the homeowner). He also showed us how to care for and maintain the pool (pool school as my son called it!). The only hiccup was that the trees planted were not far enough away for the HOA and when we told CA pools, they came to fix it within two days.
A pool is obviously a huge cost and we did not get other estimates to compare. They are likely not the cheapest company out there, but from over the phone estimates I know they are also not the most expensive. What is most important to me is that their customer service is amazing and I believe I got the best value for my money when service and quality are taken into consideration.
