| - Wow! It's been a long time since I've been this impressed by a restaurant! I don't give 5 stars often, but Chef Andre and his team deserve it.
We have been wanting to check Andre's out since it opened, and finally went yesterday for Restaurant Week, which supports Three Square. The Restaurant Week menu was a tribute to Anthony Bourdain, who we really love and miss. Wife had the French Onion soup and the Duck a l'Orange while I went with the Beef Carpaccio and Steak Frites. We both had the Creme Brulee for dessert.
The soup was so deliciously cheesy! You could not pull the spoon out without strands of cheese following. The carpaccio was also very good, with the highlight being the parmesan and smoked sea salt.
MY wife had never tried Duck a l'Orange before, and the one time I had it was disappointing. This was absolutely amazing!!! The flavor and tenderness of the duck was perfect. Almost melted in your mouth. She also loved the potatoes with the duck confit.
The flat iron steak was very tender and surprising thick, even though it was just a bit past my requested medium rare, and even better when dipped in the bearnaise sauce. The duck fat fries were to die for! Hands down the best fries I've ever had. Then again, I've never had duck fat fries before.
I'm not big on sweets, but I actually finished the Creme Brulee! Perfect balance of sweet and savory for me (yes, I watch way too much Food Network!). My wife said it was the best she'd ever had.
So glad we finally went, and we look forward to going again.
