| - I had the best dinner of my life at Nobu. I had never experienced a dining service like this before and I was moved by each course that came out. Not only was the staff exceptional but the chef catered to my pregnant food restrictions and that really added to the wow factor. We started off with the Shishito peppers and our server explained that good luck falls upon the person who bites into a hot one as most of them are mild in comparison. That was when I knew that this dining experience was different. I dined with my mother in law and fiancé and this starter really opened up our conversation; we laughed and joked and felt lucky at the start of our meal and unlike most dinners, hunching over a plate and ignoring each other, we shared a plate and opened up. Next, we had the Yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño and my fiancé described it as the best sashimi he has ever had, truly melt in your mouth. The chef also prepared bamboo shoots for me done in the style of a sashimi plate with excellent flavor and texture and made me feel included in the experience (my fiancé and mother in law ate some of my bamboo shoots too!) Then came the salmon sashimi for them and the fritters with wasabi aioli for me, presentation as beautiful as ever. The taste excelling on every level with crunchy and creamy to tender and rich. The hits kept coming with the mini tacos. These were not your average tacos! Filled with wagyu beef, lobster and king crab, each taco was a two bite masterpiece. A zest of lime over each taco added a bit of zest to the richness of flavor in an amazing way. The rock shrimp tempura came out and dazzled all 3 of us. The shrimp tossed in a creamy, spicy sauce complemented the tempura crunch so well, we considered it addictive. We enjoyed squid pasta and I had never had squid so delicate and delicious. We were taught the story behind this dish and the presentation was truly phenomenal. The beef tenderloin was probably one of my favorites. We each had our own, cooked to the appropriate temperature (a bit more medium well for me, still considering my pregnancy throughout the meal) and again, melt in your mouth flavor. We finished up with the black cod with miso which I can understand now is one of their most famous dishes as the fish was expertly prepared and the miso flavor complemented the richness so well. Lastly my fiancé and mother in law indulged in a full plate of sushi in many varieties and the chef sent out vegetable sushi for me so as to feel included again and it was absolutely delicious and thoughtful. Throughout the dinner we enjoyed education on the dishes and conversation amongst each other. It was an incredible experience that ended with the bento box dessert with a cantaloupe sorbet that my fiancé and I still rave about today. We can't wait to go back after I have the baby! Thank you so much, Nobu. Thank you, John Laverde for a fantastic dining experience, it was truly magical and unforgettable.
