Had a nice meal at L'express. The place is apparently reminiscent of a restaurant in Paris with its decor. The wait staff was nice and helpful. What we initially noticed was the wine list. Having a few options for under $30 which is almost unheard of. We started with a warm goat cheese salad which was a nice start. I wouldn't say it was the best salad I've ever had BUT it was a nice french start. The pickles and bread they put on the table are a delicious touch.
For mains we ordered a croque monsieur and the bavette. They came with a healthy portion of fries. We both enjoyed these mains. The croque monsieur was as buttery as you'd expect from a french restaurant. The steak was good with a compound butter.
For dessert, we decided to get a creme caramel. It was quite delicious. The french version of a flan is quite nice and light.
Overall, it was a nice meal, wouldn't say it was exceptional but its worth checking out. Not the cheapest meal, however, and this is why I rate this a 3.
