It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. I had really high expectations for Michelle By Sweets 507 because I saw that they specialized in pastries, specifically macarons.
Located in a small strip mall near the 215, this place can be easy to miss if you don't keep your eyes peeled. It's a small shop with a few tables to sit and enjoy your treats, but I'm assuming most guests like ourselves, just take it to-go.
We ordered 4 macarons for $2 each and with tax, came out to just under $10. I personally think that the macarons weren't worth what we paid. Each macaron was about the size of a half dollar, maybe a little smaller. It's easy to tell that they haven't quite perfected their macaron recipe because each macaron is noticeably different. They are not consistent in quality. As far as taste goes, I enjoyed the Nutella macaron until the filling. The texture of the filling was too pudding-like and didn't really have that classic hazelnut taste.
Maybe it's because we arrived 45 minutes prior to closing, but there also wasn't much of a selection to choose from for the macarons. One of the employees also locked the door and turned off the open light as soon as we left even though they were supposed to remain open for another half hour according to posted hours. Not a good look! Probably won't be coming back here any time soon.
