| - Long, but worth the read if you intend to purchase furniture at Ashleys.
My sister is moving to AZ, and is purchasing new furniture. I took her to
Ashleys to look for sofa and chairs. She purchased 1 sofa, and 1 chair
on a Friday, and they were delivered on Tues. Since she had returned
to CA, I was there to accept the goods. The chair has a big black spot
on it. The guy who delivered the chair, tried to brush off the spot, but to
no avail. He told me someone from Ashleys would call with in 15minutes
which turned out be be a lie. When he asked me to sign for the delivery
he again said that Ashleys would take care of it, but to go ahead and sign
anyway to show that he delivered the items....After an hour went by, I called
the sales associate......Bernadette,,,,1st thing she said was that since I signed
for the items, then the best they could do is to send a Tech out to clean or
repair the item. I told her the conversation with the driver, and she said she
would check with the manager, but to go ahead and call customer service.
So I called, and got a lady named Linda, who could care less. 1st thing out
of her mouth was...since I signed for it, then they could only send a tech
out, and that wouldnt be for 15 more days. My biggest problem with Ashleys
besides the damage chair, is the lack of customer service. The driver
should have asked if I wanted the chair returned,,,,,My sister even asked
to speak to the manager, and was told he is on the phone all day, and that
a request to call her back with be made. I do plan on writing the Better Business
Bureau when this is all resolved. Bottom line....dont sign for any of the
merchandise, no matter how pressured you feel from the driver, until every
thing has been inspected, or dont buy from Ashleys, buy from a company
that cares about their reputation.
I have since sent Chris H my phone number to call to resolve this, I will keep this review updated.
I spoke with Chris, and he was very apologetic, and he has given his word to replace the chair. So good ending to an bad experience.
Today I received my replacement chair, and it is perfect! Thankyou Chris for fixing the problem!
