  • What a great little place off the beaten path. I'd had Tea Revival bookmarked for sometime and finally dragged myself out there on a snowy winter's day, and found the perfect remedy to soothe my frozen limbs here. Tea is the obvious centerpiece here and the menu is just long enough to satisfy every taste but not overwhelm. Don't come here looking for a hearty meal, but for the light snacker the toast (pick your own toppings) and soup are a nice accompaniment to a cup or pot of tea. I found myself really enjoying the various tools they used to serve the tea: my pot of Ding Dong Oolong was set over a stand with a little candle to keep it warm, came with a tea timer and a little dish to set the leaves in when it was steeped enough, and a classy double-walled Bodum glass that didn't heat up at all even when steaming hot tea was poured in. I enjoyed this set-up so much I ended up refilling the pot three times just to savor how practical and effective the system was at keeping my tea warm, flavored, and easy to sip. CTR is located right next to a juice bar and they've definitely got a symbiotic relationship going here. It was awesome to see local shop owners being so friendly with each other and popping over every so often and exchanging food. There's not too much seating inside - the majority consists of six or seven stools along a counter lining the glass walls, but the charm of CTR really lies in the singlets and couplets and occasional triplets of locals and regulars wandering through for a bit of soul-warming tea and company. I actually was a little out of place with my laptop and backpack, but the owners by no means discourage any type of customer - and there are indeed outlets and Wi-Fi! I love the small business feel of CTR and it seems like the few employees they have also really enjoy working there. At least, their kindness and smiling faces made it seem so! Really though, where else would you be able to experiment with different recipes for toast and soups and baked goods just because? And see the owners' baby girl? Hear a conversation that starts off with politics and by the time you return from the bathroom has already transitioned into NFL standings and adventures in Seattle?
