  • BACKGROUND I called Marajo (Margaret Joseph, the manager and procedure consultant of the Mesa location), today to see how much money I've spent at Derma Health Skin & Laser since May, 2017, and between all of the locations, I've spent well over $10,000, not including products and facials. THE STORY In May, 2017, I had the Active Fx Laser done on my face and neck by "Dr. Bob." I absolutely LOVE the results and HIGHLY RECOMMEND that everyone puts Active Fx Laser on their skin care list. Dr. Bob has had 9 face laser treatments done to himself, if that says anything about how much he believes in the process, as well as suggesting that you get the procedure done every 2 years, and I concur. Active Fx Laser is definitely the premier skin care treatment. What I didn't like is that the procedure is done with local and topical anesthetic, as well as with oral pain meds, instead of having an anesthesiologist. It really is one of the more painful procedures I have ever had. Dr. Bob is super conscientious about pain management, but it's honestly a very painful procedure. Also, it's one of the longest and hardest healing processes for a cosmetic procedure. My down time was about 2 weeks. That being said, I'd do it again in a heart beat. The results are THAT worth it. Also, I would use Dr. Bob again. I'm pretty sure there's not many people out there with his obsession or experience using the Active Fx Laser. In fact, I liked the results so much on my face, neck and hands, that I had it done on my hands and arms 3 days ago. Dr. Bob said that although it's the same laser, a different attachment is used for the body, which is a lot less painful. WHAT IS LASER ALL ABOUT: THE ANALOGY So what is all the hype and why go through all the pain? Think about a coffee table that you use everyday. Think about all of the stains and wear and tear that it receives. Now imagine you also leave it outside half the time. Now think of it after 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 years. Cleaning it off with soap and water and applying Pledge isn't going to do a damn thing to make that table look better. That's your skin. But it's not cup ring stains, it's sun exposure, weather damage, liver/age spots, hyper and hypo pigmentation and a general lack of skin care for the duration of your life. And I'm not just talking to the women either. Men have some of the crappiest skin I've ever seen too. And NO, guys, you don't look "rugged," you look like you have gross skin. Now back to the coffee table. It's the only coffee table you're going to get, so how do you make it look better. Sanding and refinishing it is the only way. And that's essentially what the Active Fx Laser does. It basically resurfaces your skin. CONCLUSION Who is a good candidate for Active Fx Laser? Active Fx Laser is for anyone who is passionate about having high quality luxury skin. I 5/5 highly recommend Active Fx Laser by Dr. Bob at Derma Health Skin & Laser. OF NOTE *Whoever does their Social Media, sucks at Social Media. I'm personally responsible for over 50% of this business's photos and the photos that are from the business owner are blurry and completely lacking. *The office is small and not very visually appealing and needs a makeover. *99% of the staff is EXTREMELY helpful and the 1% of the staff who weren't helpful aren't working there anymore. *They carry their own skin care line, which I know very little about and don't use. *They carry a limited selection of Skin Medica, which is unfortunate because I LOVE Skin Medica and HIGHLY recommend their products. *There is parking out front. They are closed on Mondays.
