| - I have lived at the Camden Cotton Mills for the past 8 months. I agree with most of the feedback on this page. Camden Cotton Mills is a great place to live. The staff could not be more attentive or friendly. Early on I was attracted by the fact that I am always greeted by a smile and addressed by name by staff. I have loved the social events that Camden plans which gives those of us in the Camden community a chance to connect and have fun while feeling part of a family.
Whereas, the prices are a little inflated for the Charlotte area, I feel it is worth it considering I can walk to the grocery store, coffee shop, any sporting event and all night life. The building is safe and secure, which always was important to me as a SWF.
The only reason 5 stars haven't been given is the noise level and frequent disruptions. THERE IS A TRAIN. I wish I had known this and asked about it before picking the unit I live it. Whereas, I have gotten use to the whistle blowing at all hours of the day and night, it initially was very disruptive to my sleep and makes it nearly impossible to keep the windows open, even when the weather is beautiful. The comments about it being a glorified and expensive frat house, I'm afraid are true. I can count on being awoken at least once a week due to drunk and disorderly conduct. I have addressed these concerns with staff and they are mitigating the issues as best as they can. Lately the community has become a very 420 friendly location. Even though I have nothing against herbal remedies, I am smoked out of my condo regularly.
Overall, Cotton Mills is a great location and I anticipate living here for many more lease terms. I would recommend it to any and all friends only with the cautionary points above.
