  • I turned in a 27" IMAC for a factory recall of the hard drive. Originally I was going to take it to Arrowhead Mall to the Apple Store but decided it would be less busy at the Mac Media store. The hard drive was under recall so it would cost nothing out of pocket to replace anyway. The employees were helpful and friendly but unprofessional. They were more concerned talking about a Vegas Vacation then helping customers standing behind the counter. Turning in the IMAC went well but the problem was when I went to pick it up. They had put tape on the bottom corner of my screen. I peeled the tape off to see a chip on the front screen. The employee then stated, "oh yeah you dropped it off and it was already cracked". When I told them I did not drop if off with a chipped screen and they must have done it. I was again told, "you did it we didn't", "We can fix it for you but you will have to pay since we didn't do it". I was in complete shock. They break things and want me to pay for it lol. I took my IMAC in for a simple factory recall for my hard drive and now I'm paying $150.00 for a front screen replacement. Ridiculous and low class. Avoid this place like the plague. This was my first and only experience with Mac Media at the Peoria location. If you use them it will only be a matter of time before this or something like it happens to you. Take your apple products to an Official Mac Store not this garbage establishment. I learned my lesson. UPDATE: Okay! So, the manager called and emailed me in regards to my imac he was very apologetic and was more than happy to replace my screen free of charge. He also admitted that it was a mistake on the part of the store and apologized for the inconvenience. I am now very happy with my mac although i have to take it back to get some programs re loaded on to the new hard drive. I am very thankful for the manager blair being so helpful. I would suggest if you go there to try and work straight with him. Maybe also take pictures of your device before you bring it in. Just in case. Overall this is a good store .
