Where do you go when you're scared of heights and fancy a little challenge for yourself? You go indoor rock climbing. More specifically, you set up a "private lesson" like a nerd and you go indoor rock climbing. This is me. Scared of heights, anxious, likes to schedule an entire lesson on how to climb up a wall. Don`t judge me.
Booking a lesson was easy with a quick phone call to the facility. The lady who answered the phone and set me up was nice. I was able to fill out the liability waver online(which had somehow disappeared when I got to the facility and I had to do it all over again. Minor glitch.), which was super easy and to the point. I picked a date and they had someone waiting to show my friend and I the ropes(literally). We had Ryan as our trusty instructor yesterday and he was very nice, easy to talk to, extremely knowledgeable, and an overall pleasure to work with. I didn`t feel like he was going to drop me from the sky and that is very important. He was able to watch me climb and provide some tips and feedback on my climbing technique(or major lack thereof). He also moved me up a few notches in difficulty to challenge me, until I couldn't progress any further.
Overall an awesome experience I hope to repeat. Next time I`ll just go in for a day pass. Everyone seems pretty willing to help. The music is great, the atmosphere is very laid back, which I appreciate. My friend had other climbers cheering her on when she felt stuck on the wall. Go here and get your climb on.
