| - I've been a customer at Pro Nails by Julie since 2013, and will be changing salons ASAP - Do any Yelpers have a good recommendation for me?
I have spent thousands of dollars at Julie's Pro Nails, and always bring friends or family with me. Each time I visit, I spend from $60-$150 every 2-3 weeks with my nails and whomever I bring. I come here for all of the reasons left in my previous 5-star review.
You have lost my business.
The last three visits have been of extremely poor quality, and the service has gotten worse and worse over time. The girls that actually cared about your clients have left - (there are still a few remaining like Taylor and Julia. Hopefully they can help you hire better trained staff, and make you realize the customer service is now terrible).
1st TRY: I came for the grand opening, and the new lady that did my toes cut me and I bled.
2nd TRY: The second time I came to the new location - another new hire filed my nails sideways. The technician filed my nails after gelling to try and fix, and was unable to produce consistent nail shape. She left ripples in the gel, between coats, and my nails peeled 3-days afterward. I wanted OPI black, and was scolded by the male manager that runs the shop "man-splanning" to me that the other gel brand works fine (it doesn't FYI). He tried to tell me you've never had OPI Black, which is a lie." The result? I WAS IN SAN FRANCISCO WITH MY CEO IN SALES MEETING WITH GROSS, PEELING NAILS. IT WAS SO EMBARRASSING AND CHEAP LOOKING.
3rd TRY: I haven't been back for a month since that experience, because I have been afraid. I finally called to make an appointment with one of the girls that I have had previous positive experience with. I was told she is no longer with the salon. She has quit, along with many of the other girls that used to give me stunning, show-stopper nails!
I was told I could get 10% discount for the last troubles, and that I would be put with "one of the good technicians". So sad, that even your front desk staff knows that the new-hires are not trained properly.
I wanted to give the salon one last chance - because I am a fair person and understand that the salon has been experiencing change and growth.
Today, my nails are clumpy, and color is murky, transparent in some places because for some reason you will not supply Black Onyx OPI gel, and the other brand peels EVERY TIME. I don't want a refund, I don't want them redone. The guy that oversees the shop is mean, and makes me feel like it is my fault for the bad nails and service. I will just be finding a new salon.
I am sad that I also buy the Good Seed lotion from Korea that you supply, which I adore. I am sad because your salon is so clean, and I have never experienced any nail health issues as a result.
I wish you much success in your life. I know that you are a good person. I would suggest getting back to the good behavior of servicing your customers well! Allowing cash only tips is so inconvenient! Not supplying your technicians with the proper equipment is sad! Treat the employees well, and they will not leave your business.
I will try to post a picture of my nails next.
