| - There are of course many places to get inked in Vegas. After doing a little research and visiting some of the other shops we decided that Club Tattoo was the least pretentious, maintained 5-star cleanliness, and had decent well respected artists working in the shop. This isn't Miami Ink or LA Ink so don't expect to have a long conversation about the meaning of your tattoo and your life. These are artists and I am ok with not a lot of discussion if it proves the art comes out good. Indeed the work was spot on. I won't get into what my piece was, but it required detailed lettering.
My artist was Joey Hamilton. Turns out he used to work at Hart & Huntington and moved over to Club Tattoo in March '09. No ego whatsoever, very chill, and skilled. While his background focuses on portraits, he was more than willing to work with me on my tattoo. We also utilized dafont.com to look at some different font options for the lettering in my tattoo. This was very useful. In the end, the tattoo took about 45 minutes and it looks great.
There is a $100 minimum, but you get what you pay for which is quality and location. The staff are super friendly, the location can't be beat, the store has a wide variety of tattoo, piercing, clothing and jewelry. Reservations are not required which is another good option (and I'm sure it plays into the whatever happens in Vegas mindset -- walk-in get a tattoo and walk out). I would highly recommend Club Tattoo for your next venture to Las Vegas and tattoo outing.
