| - This was such a fantastic find, tucked away in the heart of the Biltmore area!
My fiancé and I hadn't had Greek food since we moved to Phoenix nearly a year ago, so when I stumbled upon this spot on OpenTable, I knew we had to visit.
We arrived a little before 7:00 PM on a Friday and were surprised to find ourselves the only patrons there. I realize that it's tucked away in a business plaza off of Camelback, but it was still a shock to walk into a completely empty restaurant.
As far as ambience and aesthetics go, this place is A+++. As someone who has always wanted to travel to Greece, I adored the decor and Grecian pieces throughout the restaurant.
Service was impeccable. While I know they weren't busy, our server was very attentive without being intrusive to our space. Two thumbs up!
From the appetizers to the dessert, the food was delicious! We went with the hummus and tzatkiki (sp?) app to start. It was splendid and was served with warm, fresh pita bread. For dinner, we split the Greekfest salad and the Lemon Chicken, wow! Unique lemony and mint flavors permeated the chicken and the salad was fresh and of good size.
We went with this custard pastry for dessert, I forget the Grecian name for it but it was amazing and melted in our mouths.. Had hints of cinnamon and honey and was served warmed.
There seemed to be many awards and newspaper/magazine articles throughout the restaurant from 10-15 years ago, commending the restaurant and ranking it as one of the top in the valley. With our service and great food, I can't understand why more folks weren't here on a Friday night, we will definitely be back!
