I love their innovative dishes. Must try the big bone soup. I tried several dishes: papaya salad, oxtail french fries, big bone soup, grilled squid, and bun bo hue. I also had the Hennessy cafe su da.
Oxtail french fries look appealing but not a practical dish in my opinion, the fries were way too soggy and the oxtail marmalade just doesn't mix as it is much greasier at taste than when you have loaded fries (melted cheese and bacon). If the fries were very crispy, I'd enjoy the dish.
Papaya salad was decent but the big bone soup took the show for me. I enjoyed it as it had a lot of taste. The broth did need a lot of lime (but that is my own preference). What a presentation! Although they should consider machine sawing it to smaller piece so you can actually chew at it.
The bun bo hue was enjoyable. But the grilled squid wasn't too great for me. I enjoy Cafe Moda's squid better, it is not chewy and was too dry.
They did forget about my Hennessy cafe su da but I ended up reminding them and they comped it. Honestly I'd rather this place 3-3.5 stars but I'll give it 4 for the customer service.
Place has awesome decor and is definitely a place to try. But I don't think I'll be coming back any time soon. At the price and actual product served, I think this place is for a different kind of crowd. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad place at all!
