Are you having trouble getting reservations at The French Laundry? Yeah, me too... Until I make the trek there, this will easily fill the void.
We started off with the deviled eggs... Ohhh yeah! Not a bad way to start the night. The fried capers were a crunchy treat, that added an extra texture that I'm still dreaming about two days later.
Next I had the soup special which was leek and potato. It was a wonderful purée with wee bitty bacon bits on top for color and taste. Who am I to say no?!
After all that, a negroni, sitting on the patio in the heat I wasn't crazy hungry. (They also brought us bread and pistachios to nosh on.) So I split the chicken entrée with my other half. It was the right decision. It was still a large portion especially considering the amazing sauce it was served in. It was so rich, I'm pretty sure it was illegal in 25 out of 50 states. ;) Elegant and not at all overpowering. It certainly enhanced the flavor of the chicken, which was tender and perfect on its own.
This is a great spot to get away from the bling and hustle of the Vegas blitz. It is hidden away at the Venetian, you won't be sorry you made the effort.
